Welcome to the RubyWorld Conference. As in previous years, the conference will be held in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture. We cordially invite you to join us here. A technology conference shines when people from diverse backgrounds share ideas face to face. Meeting in Matsue—often called the “mecca of Ruby”—will let you experience firsthand the Ruby community as it is today. We trust that the inspiration sparked by these conversations will positively influence Ruby’s evolution in the years ahead.
Ruby comes with a solid reputation for reliability and stability. It is in use all over the world and powers many services you simply cannot do without. But the story is not over—Ruby keeps evolving. Watch the core community at work, and you will witness numerous updates going out every single day, with ideas and tweaks flowing in daily so that Ruby just gets better. You will really feel how alive the language and its community are.
At this conference, where we take a bird’s-eye view of the Ruby ecosystem, you will see talks that reveal how the community is preparing for what lies ahead. Rather than just waiting for the future to unfold, you will watch the Ruby community actively make it happen.
This year, we are honored to welcome Mr. Bernard Banta, who leads RubyConf Africa, as our keynote speaker. He will show us what Ruby communities look like beyond Japan—things we do not often see at home. It is a great chance to discover fresh perspectives and get inspired by their work on the African continent, far away from here.
